Since the introduction of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum (the migration pact) on 12 June, the registration of people arriving in Greece has been chaotic. New arrivals face delays before their screening and registration starts, and there’s unclarity and uncertainty in procedures. During this period, people’s freedom of movement – and consequently their access to support services – is severely restricted. The mandatory screening and registration process is faltering while gaps in legal assistance, translation services and healthcare persist.
